Evidence of Effectiveness
Results from a quasi-experimental (QE) evaluation conducted in the 2018-2019 academic year (unpublished report from 2020) supported the effectiveness of EduGuide for middle school students. This evaluation included 1,018 grade 6 and 7 students enrolled in an urban school in the U.S. West region (90% Hispanic; 100% of students were eligible for free or reduced-price lunch (FRPL)). This evaluation found that grade 6 students receiving instruction using EduGuide showed significant reduction in class disruption compared to the control group (outcomes reported approximately 52 weeks after baseline, while controlling for a host of covariates). Additionally, grade 7 students receiving instruction using EduGuide showed significant reduction in class disruption and incidences of hitting compared to the control group over the same period.
Results from a QE conducted in the 2018-2019 academic year (unpublished report from 2020) supported the effectiveness of EduGuide for elementary students. This evaluation included 159 grade 5 students enrolled in suburban charter schools in the U.S. Southwest region (99% Hispanic; 89% of the student body at participating schools were eligible for FRPL). This evaluation found that students receiving instruction using EduGuide showed significantly greater growth in standardized mathematics test scores compared to the control group (outcomes reported approximately 52 weeks after baseline, while controlling for a host of covariates).
